Our latest interior design project is a newly constructed villa in Casilla de Costa, Villaverde, a single-storey, three-bedroom retreat with a pool, conceived around a lifestyle that dissolves the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. From the earliest design ideas to the final interior decoration and furnishing, we custom-designed every detail to create a home that feels both deeply grounding and effortlessly airy. Verdealto is an open space where the stillness and vastness of Fuerteventura’s desert landscapes meet the warmth, familiarity, and slow rhythm of a timeless, vintage-inspired aesthetic.

Designed as a family retreat for our Basque client, a passionate surfer seeking his own sanctuary near the island’s northern breaks, the villa embodies a philosophy of quality time and mindful living, rooted in an intimate relationship with nature. Ocean, desert, light, and an endless horizon lie at the heart of the design, giving form to the free spirit it celebrates.
Our interior designer blended several aesthetic languages into a single, calm, highly curated atmosphere. At its foundation, we find a warm interpretation of contemporary minimalism that feels tactile and sun-washed while Mid-century modernism informs the proportions, open sightlines, and optimistic use of wood. A Japanese-inspired restraint adds wabi-sabi softness filtered through a Mediterranean lens that focuses on symmetry, curves, and minimal ornamentation.
A sense of connection through stillness was our purpose, and our intention was to achieve it by playing with materials and shapes. The spacious open-plan living area is the heart of Verdealto, where indoor and outdoor life flow seamlessly. Large sliding glass doors open fully, extending the interior into the surrounding landscape and evoking the relaxed, expansive elegance of late-60s Californian desert homes, subtly reinterpreted with a modern yet delicate sensibility.
Wood anchors the design. Light oak runs continuously across floors, cabinetry, and custom furniture, establishing a grounded core that mirrors the island’s earthy tones. Long, clean planes, uncluttered lines, and quiet symmetry recall both West Coast mid-century proportions and Eastern calm.
The kitchen design is a harmonious blend of quartz and warm wood, where the cooking area is encased in solid quartz that flows into the supporting leg of a long, wooden semi-island table. The wood stretches naturally from the quartz, creating a soft, inviting contrast and a sense of unity. Teal tiles evoke the ocean, while light oak cabinetry wraps the space in warmth, and a row of chairs turns the table into a welcoming spot for shared family moments.

The accent wall in the living room features floor-to-ceiling wood panelling. Soft touches of moss green and muted burgundy appear throughout, adding personality without disturbing the balance. Paper and silk ceiling lamps float above the space, softening the horizontal architecture and balancing the solidity of wood and white marble.
The villa’s three bedrooms continue this hybrid style of peaceful openness. Light woods, soft-curved furniture, and natural textures create a restful, soothing environment with almost no visual noise. The master bedroom with its custom-designed headboard connects to a small private studio, a contemplative space for reading, work, or creativity. Curated artworks throughout Verdealto add emotional depth and texture, reinforcing the villa’s intent as a place where the mind slows and the body settles.

Outside, the design transitions naturally into a refined desert-modern aesthetic. Cactus landscaping, crisp geometry, white walls and charcoal accents create a visual language that blends Baja coastal architecture with contemporary simplicity. This balance between starkness and warmth made it easy to design a chill-out area around the generous poolside platform, furnished with white sofas, a Balinese daybed, and sun loungers.
The result is a tranquil outdoor living space where you can breathe deeply beneath the Fuerteventura sky. Cement-block paving and mineral hues carry the home’s quiet essence outdoors, dissolving the line between interior and landscape.

Verdealto is a place where the passion for surfing, the love of the ocean, and the call of the desert converge.
It brings together multiple worlds in a single, coherent space, defined by the tactile groundedness of natural materials, the airy openness of light-filled rooms, and a rhythm of life shaped by full presence in nature. This is a villa designed for a traveler of the world, an adventurous soul seeking a sense of belonging and flow, who values serenity, authenticity, and the stripped-down essence of simplicity.
