New Project: Modern Vintage style apartment in Pueblo Majorero, Caleta de Fuste.

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

Interior and exterior design project in the new Pueblo Majorero urbanization, located in Caleta de Fuste (Antigua). As an interior designer, it was a delight to create a home with retro influences from the 70s, in a colourful and modern style. A unique home decor for a holiday home in Fuerteventura.

Are you ready to discover the behind the scenes of our #interiordesign project in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura? It was exciting for us to work on this attic in Pueblo Majorero, a new residential development with stunning views over the sea, the mountains, and the Caleta Golf course. When a lovely couple from mainland Spain contacted us, they wanted to make sure we could complete the renovation and decoration in time for their move to the island. Their idea was to have a holiday home in Fuerteventura that felt like home and that reflected their personality.

We immediately started having several online meetings with the clients and always kept in touch via WhatsApp. It seems like an obstacle not being able to meet in person to discuss the project but the whole initial stage of communication was simple and easy. During the many Skype video calls, we showed them the 3D render of the property, mood boards, and our ideas for the #homedecor and outdoor design. The property not only has a beautiful terrace, it also has a spacious solarium that needed to be transformed into a comfortable and relaxing space.

After a few online meetings, the clients were happy to proceed with our idea to use retro and vintage influences from the 70s with a more colourful and #modernstyle. The next step was talking about furniture, decorations, outdoor furniture and textiles for their bedroom decoration, cushions, and sofa. We like to plan every little detail, and, in this case, we opted for natural designer textiles to create a special #homedecoration. To make this penthouse even more unique, our interior design studio designed custom and handmade furniture exclusively for our clients.

Having extra space for storage is always a priority and for this reason we began thinking of solutions and designed stylish custom-made furniture for the #livingroom, the guest bedroom, and the bathrooms. At Noogar, we think of storage as a necessity but at the same time, the secret is to create something that is not only functional but most of all pleasing to the eye. The extra storage does not have to be visible, obvious, and distracting when looking at the interior styling.

When the project finally began, planning every step of the process was fundamental to complete it in time for the clients’ move to Fuerteventura. We ordered the #furniture immediately as it takes longer to receive shipments in the #CanaryIslands and then met with our trusted carpenter and renovation company to discuss colours and aesthetic changes to be done. In the meantime, we ordered the curtains and started looking for vases, plants, decorations and bedroom textiles like bedspreads and sheets.

No matter how meticulous your planning is, there is always something unexpected happening and unfortunately, on this project, we have been delayed by the coronavirus lockdown. However, we managed to keep the furniture in a storage and as soon as the renovation company could continue their work, we made sure, little by little, that everything was coming together as expected. It has been a difficult moment but thanks to our initial planning we managed as best as we could during the global pandemic.

If the interior décor is colourful and influenced by a vintage aesthetic, for the #outdoordesign we only used natural wood and round shaped outdoor furniture like the main wooden table and corner sofa for the solarium. It is not only a way to connect to nature but also a way to create a connection with the master bedroom where we designed a floor to ceiling custom made wooden headboard.

In the end the property feels like the perfect, relaxing, and eccentric holiday home and, at the same time, a place where the clients can spend a long period of time without the feeling of being in a rental property. The #artworks are a big part of this feeling and we have also been looking for art pieces from local artists in Fuerteventura to add to the #interiordecoration. Also, the plants, the round shape of the metal side tables in the living room, the huge round mirror and round lamp, the inviting velvet sofa and wooden rocking chairs… these are all elements that tells a story. We are happy and proud when our clients tell us they feel at home after our work is completed.

“Through the internet we did a search of furniture shops and there is not much to choose from in Fuerteventura. Suddenly it appeared an Italian painter who spent 10 years in London and works as an interior designer. My experience could have not been better! In addition to having an exquisite taste, he captures your style very well, is very attentive and a good professional. We were handed the penthouse in April 2020 in full pandemic. Fabio took everything forward and in May we were already living in our house. We have no words to thank him for the commitment he made to us and the wonderful result.” – Do you want to know what our clients say about their experience with Noogar? Click here.
